The UK and Scottish Governments are doing a public consultation on proposals to change the electricity infrastructure consenting process and are asking for the views of the public as well as that of the energy developers.

This will involcve changes to the planning process for major electricity work like the new power lines and sub stations which are planned to be built across north east Scotland including Alvah and Forglen.

In addition to proposals for pre application consultations with affected local communities there are proposals to reduce the time scale to lodge appeals against Scottish Government decisions on elecricity infrastructure development from 12 weeks to 6 weeks.

Closing date for comments is 29th November.
